Fashion Killa

So, don’t know if you can tell by the title or not but, we’re going to talk about one of my faves A$AP Rocky. His song “Fashion Killa” is definitely appropriately titled because he has a sense of fashion that’s all his own. A gift really. The video for “Fashion Killa” stars one of my biggest fashion inspirations, Rihanna.  He always urges people to wear what they want. He did a colab with Jeremy Scott (you guys know Jeremy is a fave of mine) for Adidas in 2013, and is always front and center during fashion week. A lot of his music has fashion references to his love of fashion and his favorite designers. In his song “Goldie” he says, “My Martin was a Maison, rocked Margielas with no laces.” Maison Martin Margiela is a Belgian fashion designer, but his brand is based in Paris. Maison is also the french word for House, like fashion house. In “Jukebox Joints” he talks about wearing Prada pieces the season before they come out and how his closet basically is the Met Gala. A$AP references to Raf Simmons a lot, which is one his biggest fashion inspirations. He even has a song named after the designer with more references to fashion than an any other song he has. He’s been quoted saying “(Raf) is the best to ever do it.” He’s also modeled with Naomi Campbell in a Guess ad, and Cara Delevigne for DKNY, and Chanel Iman for the 2014 September Issue of Vogue.
